Our mission is to reshape the healthcare landscape in the United States:
At the individual level, we want to empower all Americans with tools that give them insight into the potential drivers of their healthcare symptoms, help them mitigate those symptoms using natural methods based on choices of foods and activities for each day, and also enable them to proactively fend off new symptoms.
At the organizational and national level, we want to guide strategies based on the Butterflies Method that will encourage personal responsibility, better health outcomes, and lower healthcare expenditures.
Leadership
Meet Dr. Mita
Mita Lodh, PhD, FSA, AD, has a unique combination of qualifications and experience on the financial as well as clinical sides of the U.S. healthcare industry. Her book Butterflies Method for Health reveals some of the many ways in which she can help bring about transformation to drive better health outcomes and lower healthcare expenditures.
Mita’s initial qualifications included B.Sc. in Operations Research (Bombay University), PGDBM in Financial Management (Indian Institute of Management - Ahmedabad), M.S. in Applied Statistics (Ohio State University, Columbus), Ph.D. in Bayesian methods which underlie artificial intelligence (Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh), and Actuarial Fellow (Society of Actuaries, U.S.A.).
Her actuarial experience includes identifying the drivers of varying degrees of healthcare management, designing and launching financial equivalents of clinical efficiencies with sub-teams of doctors and pharmacists, certifying various health programs and initiatives by state governments worth billions of dollars annually, modeling care and disease management programs, and advising physician practices and hospital-based health plans. She received recognition as volunteer, mentor, thesis advisor, author, chairperson, and speaker.
Her health actuarial work as well as her own personal experience as a patient within the healthcare system made it evident to Mita that the fragmented and very expensive healthcare system in the U.S. leaves the patient wanting. She therefore pursued further studies and completed the Ayurvedic Doctor program (Alandi Gurukula, Boulder) while concurrently exploring other natural approaches to healthcare.
Today she finds satisfaction helping others through her clinic. She credits the authoring of her book to those who benefited from the Butterflies Method and urged her to share her method with a larger audience. She credits Michelle for the support, enthusiasm, and resourcefulness necessary to pursue our joint goal of enabling society-wide transformation in how the U.S. approaches healthcare .
Meet Michelle
Michelle Raleigh, ASA, MAAA, is a credentialed actuary who has been focused on improving our healthcare system for over 30 years. Her passion for finding ways to improve outcomes while lowering overall costs aligns perfectly with Dr. Mita’s Butterflies Method.
In fact, the Butterflies Method accomplishes another transformational goal of empowering people to take charge of their health by building their confidence with education and providing them with the tools to do so. Dr. Mita and I have been colleagues and friends for over 20 years, and because of our common passions, we have built this collaboration to help individuals and organizations implement the Butterflies Method.
As an actuary, Michelle specializes in risk analysis, organizational financial health, and actuarial team development. She enjoys outreaching to others and strategizing about ways to implement the Butterflies Method. Her insights and relationships formed from serving in various roles across the healthcare industry are helpful in spreading the word about the Butterflies Method. She is appreciative of Dr. Mita sharing the Butterflies Method with her and grateful that we both have the same goal of transforming how the U.S. approaches healthcare.
Michelle’s experience highlights are: serving as a former Chief Actuary for one of the nation's largest health plans, being the CFO of a California Medicaid health plan, consulting for major firms, and co-owning a strategic health care consultancy.
